Okay, perhaps my modeling career got off to a rocky start. When NECBA (The New England Childrens Booksellers Advisory Council) undertook to make and market a 2010 Men of NECBA Calendar perhaps we should have considered that there was only one man in the organization. Somehow the 2010 Man of NECBA calendar didn't sound quite right so we went ahead with a calendar that was perhaps aesthetically challenged as well being gramatically incorrect. Hmmmn. Well check it out for yourself and see what you think. 2010 Men of NECBA Calendar
Speaking of modeling and costumes and all that we wanted to let you know about some great costume role play sets we have that are perfect for Halloween but sturdy enough for year round role playing fun. There are train engineers, police officers, veterinarians, fire chiefs, and construction workers. These are high quality and were intially priced a bit high, but the company connected the dots and they are now on sale of $29.99, which is a great deal.
Here they are! Our weekly picks for the two best: two hardcover, two paperback, and two children's books. The very best new arrivals to leap out of the box and onto our shelves this week. Call or email us if you want more information on any of these titles, or to have us hold you a copy. Or stop in and check them out in person. We'd love to see you. Thanks as always for sharing your reading with us!

Sarah Vowell continues her trend of writing excellent books, which don't fit neatly into a trend, with The Wordy Shipmates, now out in paperback. Arguing that America continues to see itself fundamentally as a Puritan nation Vowell establishes the concept of Puritanism both as an historical phenomenon and as a contemporary sociological one. The result is both incisive and of course entertaining. ...More
